Description:
Project teams in our Energy & Industrial Group (EIG) support industry-leading projects in power generation, plant design, environmental compliance, mid/downstream oil & gas, and multi-disciplined industrial projects. We’re leading efforts to decarbonize the industry by utilizing advanced technologies in renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen power. Our EIG teams perform detailed engineering services for photovoltaic (PV) solar projects and the integration of solar and energy storage. We’re the industry leader in carbon capture technologies with experience executing pilot-scale to commercial-scale projects for utilities, industrial plants, and direct air capture. We provide engineering services for green hydrogen production via electrolysis using solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear power sources and we support on-site usage in power generation, fuel cells, and fueling stations.
Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work. These projects may involve the design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to existing power plant systems, components, and distribution engineering projects.
Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Electrical Engineering in one or more of the following areas:
Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and designs
Be involved in electric power equipment document reviews
Qualifications:
We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Essential skills and experience:
Must have an expected graduation date in Winter 2024 or Spring 2025 toward a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background and coursework in electrical power concepts and AC power systems analysis.
Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong PC skills are required.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Prior, related internship or co-op experience is preferred.
An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology, including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design.
