Overview:

Under direct supervision, support the Packaging Director in overseeing the packaging operations; monitor, record and track SOP and safety related requirements; as well as reviewing, editing and generating a variety of production related documents.

Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing Packaging Batch Records and associated forms.

In conjunction with the Supervisor, ensure all assigned employees training requirements are complete and representative of their job description.

May coordinate and/or conduct departmental training; could include new hire orientation.

Assist in conducting and documenting monthly and quarterly Safety Meetings.

Help monitor department’s daily production effort to ensure the production schedule is met.

Develop and maintain confidential departmental personnel and associated files, documents, and/or databases.

Notify Production Planning on current room status and production related concerns.

Assist in ensuring compliance with all Company equipment, Safety and OSHA rules and regulations.

As directed by the Supervisor, may offer administrative, may offer administrative and scheduling assistance to Line Leads and Operators.

May prepare work orders, purchase requisitions or other documents to facilitate a smooth functioning work environment.

Assist in reviewing, and if required, submitting Document Change Requests (DCRs) and related SOPs.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Ensuring the label room is organized and in cGMP compliance.

Maintaining accurate label inventory.

Making sure all packaging specifications are correct on packaging work order before issuing out to the floor.

Run pick list on all packaging work orders.

Issuing sufficient packaging work orders to the floor in a timely fashion.

Closing the packaging work order at the end of the package process and entering in the system.

Maintaining packaging schedule daily, with charts.

Turning in all finished packaging work on time.

Qualifications:

Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent with five to seven (5-7) years of directly related experience; directly related, completed degrees from accredited institutions may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

Knowledge of Manufacturing and Packaging practices, policies and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and writing.

A working knowledge of cGMP and Safety regulations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information

Ability to make evaluative judgements

Organizing and coordinating skills

Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex issues

Ability to assist and train assigned staff.

Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications to include MS Word & Excel; knowledge of MS Access would be beneficial.

Knowledge of Good Documentation practices and standards

General knowledge of the structure, policies and procedures relating to a dietary supplement manufacturing environment.
