Overview:

Learn Academy is looking for a Part-Time fully licensed Mental Health Therapist for for our location in Victorville, CA.

Part-time hourly position, up to 20 hours per week, with potential to move to full time.

Fully Licensed Mental Health therapist starts at $37 p/h.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you'll join a school-based special education team , which works with school districts to deliver the highest-quality special education services to students with special needs.  

The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for…

DIS Counseling- Designated Instructional Services focuses on social/emotional functioning that negatively affects academic progress and the development of long-term academic/vocational goals and independent living-skills.

Crisis Intervention - Available during the school day as needed when student is experiencing a crisis situation; Help develop and/or implement safety plans for high-risk students.

Consultation/Referral – Ongoing consultation with administrators, teaching staff, students’ families, and outpatient service professionals to address school-related problems and issues; Participation in IEP meetings; assistance in coordinating parent meetings as needed; Provide information/make referrals to community resources as needed.

Developmental/Preventative Guidance

Help oversee WAVES Behavior Modification Program for students.

Develop and maintain WAVES program/goals for each individual student in accordance with IEP goals

Monitor and create, when necessary, Behavior Support Plans

Assist classroom teacher in administering WAVES privileges

Assist educational staff in the infusion of counseling content into the curriculum/planning of community activities

Qualifications:

License – Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, Educational Psychologist, or license eligible intern under the supervision of an LMFT, LCSW, or LEP;

Associates MFT or CSW, we will provide supervision for their hours toward licensure.

OR Credential – PPS in School Psychology, School Counseling, or School Social Work

Specialized Skills – Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with adolescents, educational staff, families, and the public; Knowledge of school-based/community resources, especially related to the mental health, social services, and education fields preferred.

Spanish speaking skills a plus
