Built-in 1973 Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is committed to providing daily excellence in health care for residents of Sacramento’s southern suburbs including the Elk Grove Wilton and Galt communities. Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace – a 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together the hospital and residency program implemented a ground-breaking curriculum addressing the identification treatment and assistance of human trafficking victims and created a one-of-a-kind health clinic for victims the Human Trafficking Medical Home.

Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The incumbent is defined as a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families. Utilizing a holistic approach, the registered nurse provides patient and family care based on the nursing process and consistently provides a safe and confidential environment throughout the delivery of care. As a professional, the registered nurse is responsible for providing leadership and maintaining personal professional development. The incumbent is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure. Additionally, the incumbent delivers safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing procedural interventions and other patient care duties as assigned. The incumbent will serve as a hospital wide resource during Interventional Radiology downtimes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current California RN license

One (1) year of experience in critical care, cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of cardiac rhythms, basic ECG interpretation and cardiac hemodynamics.

Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be certified through the American Heart Association)

Critical care course certification or equivalent.

Procedural sedation certificate within 2 months of hire/transfer.
