About this Role:

FiberTel is hiring a Project Manager for our SunZia Project in Corona, NM.

The Project Manager will be in charge of tracking, forecasting and managing the schedule of the project. FiberTel is handling all of the trenching for the SunZia project utilizing specialty, large trenching machines. A successful Project Manager will have a good understanding of all aspects of a large-scale trenching project.

This is a travel position with 50%. $150 daily peridem included.

What You'll Do:

Responsibilities:

Responsible for project tracking including all aspects of production, cost, and revenue.

Responsible for project schedule including baseline, critical path, and daily/weekly updates, and any changes to overall schedule.

Weekly/monthly job cost forecasting including updating actuals, committed cost, cost to complete, margin and deviation from baseline.

Understand all aspects of project, including scope, build standards and closeout requirements

Ability to generate new project upon site assignment from client

Complete pre-scoping form and submit to scoping department

Confirm all Purchase Orders are in place before construction start; review prints and field work to ensure understanding of site installation

Direct day-to-day operations of construction projects; coordinates scheduling with crews

Make contacts and develop business relationships with customers, unions, subcontractors and vendors

Travel to specific sites as required depending on size, location, and internal/external requirements

Responsible for safe work practices and implementing company safety programs for all subordinates

Ensures all client required reports are presented in a professional, timely, and accurate manner; all client required meetings are attended as requested or required

Reviews and develops the performance of all subordinates; approves weekly payroll and equipment reporting

Manages equipment fleet, maximize utilization and coordinates maintenance; manages and controls the procurement, use and application of tools

Accounts for all billing opportunities as it pertains to the scope versus actual work required and performed on site

Maintain accurate and timely pay applications, track client payments, and manage cash flow of projects per contract terms.

Confirms punch walk is complete; complete post job inspections and QA/QC; closeout all permits

Qualifications:

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.

Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Prior construction experience (Comcast experience preferred but not required)

Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and applicable Engineering programs.

Good Written and oral communication.

Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Aerial and Underground construction.

Field experience with OSP Construction.

As-built and invoicing experience.

RUS experience a plus.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. This job routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally spend time outside the office when meeting clients or need to check on vehicles.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
