ABOUT CATALYST ACADEMY

Seneca is hiring a School Based Therapist to guide grades 2-12 students at Catalyst Academy in El Sobrante, CA. The Therapist provides therapeutic, case management and consultation services for a caseload of children and families. In addition, each Therapist is linked to a classroom as the classroom therapist. Therapist duties include facilitating groups in the classroom, helping to create and implement individualized behavioral plans for each child, and assisting the classroom staff in understanding clinical issues and creating a therapeutic milieu. As a School Therapist you will collaborate with special education teachers and school counselors to meet students' therapeutic, behavioral, and academic needs. As a Therapist, you'll support mental health, provide therapeutic interventions, and promote academic curiosity!

Responsibilities:

Work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team with teachers, counselors, other specialists/educational staff, and program leadership

Provide interventions including therapy (individual, group, family) and case management for identified students based on school-based referrals, individualized clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning

Engage caregivers in the treatment process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs

Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage

Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response trainingThis may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities may be required

Provide consultation to other school staff on safety assessments, mental health crises, accessing social service, and in utilizing healing centered techniques to experience success with all students

Contribute to a strong school culture by participating in or leading small group, classroom or school-wide activities for students that celebrate success and promote joy

Complete required data collection and service documentation for plan development and to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling/marriage family therapyRegistered with California BBS: ASW, AMFT, APCC, or full licensed

Bilingual Spanish- English skill set

TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination 

Schedule:

School based schedule: Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4:30 PM

5 weeks of flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days

Benefits:

Starting at $77,440 - $91,440 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role

$4000 salary increase upon licensure

Salary increases each year

$2000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees!

Relocation assistance is available

5 weeks of Paid Time off and 11 Paid Holidays and 14 paid school break days
