Overview

Under the direction of the Analytical Laboratory Supervisor, the Chemist will perform routine analysis of ingredient, bulk product, finished good and stability study samples to support manufacturing and R&D.

Great Starting Pay of $25.50

Longevity Bonus (5 Yrs/$5000, 10 Yrs/$10,000, 15 Yrs/$15,000, etc.)

Responsibilities

Essential

Performs quantitative/qualitative analysis of incoming ingredients, bulk and finished products, stability samples, process validation samples and/or other research samples in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs)

Prepares mobile phases, diluents as well as sample, standard or buffer solutions

Accurately documents work in laboratory notebooks and instrument logbooks

Participates in suspected-out-of-specification investigations

Performs and documents monthly and yearly preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations on laboratory instruments and equipment

Authors and peer reviews summary reports including calculation of calibration curves, recoveries, concentrations, acceptance ranges, compositions and basic statistics (i.e. averages, standard deviations, RSD, correlation coefficients, confidence intervals, student’s t-test, etc.)

Accurately reports results in data management systems

Maintains organization and cleanliness of the laboratory, instruments, equipment, samples, reference standards and/or supplies

Assists in execution of method validation studies as required

Adheres to company safety policies and other safety regulations

Qualifications

Essential

A./B.S. degree in chemistry (or equivalent college credits)

0-2 years of general laboratory experience

Basic knowledge in the use of typical analytical instruments, including but not limited to GC, HPLC, ICP-MS, FT-IR, UV/Vis and titrators

Efficiently and accurately performs essential duties and responsibilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including face-to-face and phone conversations

Ability to work independently and in teams

Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within required timelines

Ability to author documents using MS Word, perform basic statistical analysis in MS Excel (i.e. average, standard deviation, relative standard deviation, etc.)

Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time

Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, copying, writing, etc

Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.

Ability to climb stairs

Ability to lift 30 lbs
