Position Description:

Applied Medical is currently in search of entry-level Preventative Maintenance Technicians aspiring to pursue a career in Industrial Maintenance. The primary role of the Preventative Maintenance Technician is maintaining regular scheduled maintenance activities to prevent unexpected failures to machinery and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our Manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring the safety of patients and healthcare professionals who rely on our devices.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Routine Maintenance: Complete preventive maintenance on CNC and Injection Molding machinery, along with auxiliary equipment according to the planned schedule.

Execute Preventative Maintenance Tasks: Follow established maintenance schedules and procedures to perform preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and replacing parts as necessary.

Document Maintenance Activities: Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities, including dates, tasks performed, parts used, and any observations or recommendations for improvement.

Maintain Inventory: Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks and ensure timely replenishment to minimize downtime.

Within your first 30 days:

Familiarize yourself with our medical device products, including their specifications, operating procedures, and maintenance requirements.

Shadow experienced technicians to observe preventative maintenance routines and gain hands-on experience with our equipment.

Complete initial training on safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory guidelines relevant to the role.

Begin independently performing basic preventative maintenance tasks under supervision, such as cleaning, lubricating, and calibrating equipment.

Establish a system for documenting maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, equipment status reports, and any issues encountered during inspections.

Within 60 days:

Demonstrate proficiency in performing preventative maintenance such as: Filters, greasing, oil, and full coolant changes on the equipment.

Participate in troubleshooting sessions to address equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions effectively.

Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and efficiency.

Complete any additional training or certifications required for specialized equipment maintenance, if applicable.

Contribute to the development of standardized maintenance protocols and best practices to optimize maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

Within 90 days to 1 year:

Take ownership of preventative maintenance schedules for assigned equipment, ensuring timely completion and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Proactively identify potential maintenance issues through regular inspections and implement preventive measures to minimize equipment downtime.

Provide mentorship and support to new technicians joining the team, sharing knowledge and best practices to facilitate their onboarding process.

Collaborate with leadership to ensure availability of necessary spare parts and consumables for maintenance activities.

Present recommendations for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and procedures based on your observations and experiences in the role.

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Fluent in English

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills 

Demonstrate proficiency by performance and/or certificates with basic mechanical aptitude and standard hand holds.

Preferred:

Attention to detail and thoroughness in inspecting and maintaining machinery, with a keen eye for identifying subtle signs of wear or malfunction.

Time Management and prioritization to conduct preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.

Adaptability to handle changing work environments and the capacity to learn.
