Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexibility with schedule

Responsibilities:

Here’s what to expect as a Payroll Administrator:

Administer the weekly payroll, including additional payroll (e.g. bonus payments), mileage and cell phone reimbursement.

Manage payroll and assist in the timely payment of the organization’s payroll and payroll related obligations, including monthly and quarterly local tax compliance.

Prepare custom reports for the fiscal and management teams, and all other internal users as requested. Serve as data custodian for the ADP (payroll system) and the Matrixcare payroll (telephonic time and attendance system).

Verify changes made by supervisors to employee pay rates, and other changes in the payroll systems.

Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data in the ADP and Matrixcare systems.

Maintain standard written payroll policies and procedures and recommend changes as needed.

Maintain the allocation/distribution codes, updating as needed.

Manage all information in accordance with Agency confidentiality policies, using personal judgment in handling a variety of sensitive information.

Maintain confidentiality in all areas with respect to individual, employee, and other sensitive information.

Assist the Chief Financial Officer and the Controller in the preparation of the operating budget, County budgets, grant budgets, and other reports as requested.

Provide assistance as needed to employees regarding their payroll questions and concerns.  

Prepare and post weekly payroll journal entries.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements as a Payroll Administrator:

Bachelor’s degree within a related discipline expected and 2 to 5 years of learning experience 

Or a Master’s degree within a related discipline and 0 to 2 years of learning experience 

Five years of previous payroll administration experience

A valid driver’s license

Access to vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection

Ability to communicate, read, write, and interpret English

Preferred, but not required:

Prior experience with the ADP payroll administration software system
