Overview:

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is looking for an Accounting Associate to join our Accounting team to provide administrative support to all areas of the team, including Project Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.  This position is full time in our Pittsburgh, PA office (Moon Township).  

Responsibilites:

Upload client invoices into third party invoicing systems;

Mail client invoices, interest invoices, and remedy/final demand letters as needed;

Process weekly data entry of vehicle and equipment usage, including identification of missing items (Coordinate with Corporate Fixed Asset Accountant);

Process project closeouts, including identification of unbilled WIP and reserves;

Process new client information packets, both incoming and outgoing;

Contact clients/vendors regarding expired Certificates of Insurance (COIs);

Verify client/vendor contacts and encourage transition to electronic payments;

Assist Accounts Payable with processing payments/refunds and mailing checks;

Assist as a backup for cash receipts posting, research and reconciliation;

Assist with Audit requests as needed; and

Assist with other miscellaneous accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Associates's Degree or higher in Accounting or Business;

0-3 years of professional experience (engineering and consulting industry experience a plus)

Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook along with aptitude for learning internal systems and accounting system (Deltek).

Ability to communicate professionally (oral and written);

Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality;

Understanding of the accounting cycle including deadline requirements; and

Ability to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines (Deadlines and schedule demands may require extended work schedule).
