Flux Consulting have partnered with a well-established construction company based in Norwich, known for delivering high-quality small works projects across various sectors. Due to expansion, they are currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their Small Works Department, focusing on projects up to £200,000.
Role Overview: You will play a key role in managing costs and preparing estimates for small works projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for small works projects up to £200,000.
* Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis to support project planning.
* Manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Negotiate and procure subcontractor and supplier agreements.
* Monitor financial progress and prepare regular cost reports.
* Assess and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where necessary.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
* Prepare and submit project valuations and final accounts.
* Ensure compliance with relevant contracts, legislation, and regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator within the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of cost management and estimating processes for small works projects.
* Excellent negotiation, analytical, and numerical skills.
* Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, cost estimating software).
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Experience with projects up to £200,000 in value is highly desirable.
