Position Title: Director of Hospice

Location: Moab, Utah

Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour week, Monday-Friday with rotating evening and weekend on-call shifts

Salary: $110,000 - $116,000 annually, DOE

Sign-on Bonus: $10,000 with a 2-year service requirement

Job Description:

The Director of Hospice is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hospice care, ensuring the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care to patients and their families. This role involves managing the hospice team, meeting regulatory requirements, maintaining financial sustainability, and ensuring operational efficiency. The Director of Hospice also works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and serves on the Nursing Administration team as needed. This is a leadership role requiring both administrative and clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the hospices mission and values, providing leadership and direction to the hospice team.

Clinical Oversight: Ensure high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and development of clinical policies. Maintain relationships with medical directors and healthcare providers. Oversee bereavement programs and assist in patient care and call rotations.

Financial Management: Develop and manage the hospice budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.

Human Resources: Recruit, hire, train, and develop hospice staff, fostering a positive work environment.

Community Relations: Build relationships with community partners, oversee marketing efforts, and engage in community outreach.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor patient satisfaction, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Licensure: Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN license.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a BSN or MSN preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical/Surgical, Home Health, or Hospice Nursing.

Certifications: BLS certification and a valid drivers license with reliable, insured transportation for patient visits.

Additional Requirements: Sensitivity to terminally ill patients and families, ability to work independently in unstructured environments, and strong emotional maturity.
