Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Behavioral Health to join our team in Columbus, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience in psychiatric and behavioral health nursing, providing high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves working closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mental health care, manage crises, and support recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions for patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs.

Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and provide education on medication management, ensuring adherence to established protocols.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary to address evolving needs and ensure optimal outcomes.

Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.

Educate patients and their families on coping strategies, mental health conditions, and available resources to support ongoing recovery and wellness.

Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1.5 years of psychiatric/behavioral health bedside experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Valid licensure in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a multi-state/compact RN license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Strong clinical skills in psychiatric and behavioral health nursing, including crisis intervention, medication administration, and patient education.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

High level of empathy, patience, and emotional resilience to support patients with complex mental health needs.

Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
