Role Overview:
We are seeking a mid-level Tax Associate with a strong background in advising on merger and acquisition transactions, debt and other financing transactions, and portfolio investments. Based in New York, the ideal candidate will design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and corporate transactions, as well as provide state tax planning advice. This role is well-suited for professionals who have recently worked for an Am Law 100 firm and are looking to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Advise clients on merger and acquisition transactions, debt and other financing transactions, and portfolio investments.
Design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and a wide range of corporate transactions.
Provide state tax planning advice to clients.
Collaborate effectively with team members, working from the office approximately 60% of the time, in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
JD from an ABA-accredited law school; LLM in tax preferred.
Admitted or eligible for admission in New York.
At least four years of transactional tax experience, focusing on corporate transactional and partnership taxation in a law firm environment.
Background in energy, real estate, and international taxation preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professionalism in working and engaging with clients and colleagues.
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and balance competing responsibilities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.
