Our client, a major Japanese financial institute, is looking for Japanese bilingual candidates in the NY office.
Position Summary
This position supports the accounting team with daily tasks, assists the payroll team with US and global payroll processing, and coordinates the daily operations of group benefit programs.
Essential Duties/Functions
Accounts Payable and ReconciliationConduct AMEX reconciliations using Concur, providing required reports on time.
Collect, review, and process receipts according to company policy.
Identify and correct errors, following up with relevant parties.
Prepare and maintain Concur system documentation.
Assist with AP, GL, and bank reconciliation backups.
Review and verify invoices and check requests.
Research and resolve vendor and employee inquiries.
Maintain vendor and customer information, W9s, and 1099s.
Create invoices and wire templates.
Obtain necessary approvals and maintain documentation.
PayrollCalculate and process payroll for local and expatriate employees.
Prepare GL entries for payroll transactions.
Assist with expatriate tax filings.
Support global mobility payroll for expatriates and overseas teams.
BenefitsAssist with annual Open Enrollment and benefit orientations.
Support HR with benefit program implementation and coordination.
Update benefit and payroll systems with employee changes.
Calculate benefit accruals.
Handle employee benefit inquiries, leaves of absence, and ADP system updates.
Manage relationships with plan vendors and third-party administrators.
Assist with benefit audits and record-keeping.
GeneralProvide translation support for Japanese documents and emails.
Evaluate and document procedures to improve efficiency.
Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business.
2+ years of experience in accounting and payroll.
Understanding of global payroll and accounting preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of ADP, MS Dynamics, and Concur.
Business level proficiency in English and Japanese.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to change.
On-site presence in NYC required Monday-Thursday.
