Overview:

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

The Director, Corporate Real Estate Project Management is responsible for project governance and execution of the bank’s corporate real estate project portfolios including facilities design construction and renovation projects, and capital upgrade programs. Provides bank leadership with critical information and insight required for the selection, prioritization, and execution of initiatives which align with real estate portfolio roadmaps and the Bank’s Competitive Path and Strategic Plan. Provides guidance on the development of and compliance against project management standards, procedures, and processes. Directs strategic efforts for efficient, effective project management ensuring the achievement of business objectives and identification of project execution risks. Evaluates execution effectiveness, organizational change management impacts, and delivers tactical insight executive management and other key stakeholders through project portfolio analysis, metrics, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Business Strategy and Support – Partners with bank leadership and key stakeholders to understand business unit strategies and align project objectives, development, and execution to accomplish strategic objectives. Offers business and technical expertise to ground-up, renovation, mergers and acquisitions, branch and office openings and closings and other real estate programs.

Real Estate Design - Develops and manages the Bank’s branch and corporate facility designs to deliver desired quality while remaining functional, efficient, and cost-effective. Directs reviews to maintain functionality and alignment with current architectural design guidelines and corporate objectives.

Project Oversight and Management– Responsible for the successful execution and delivery of corporate real estate projects from start to finish, ensuring projects deliver stated business objectives. Manages project portfolio risks through the development of contingency plans and mitigation strategies. Maintains the project management methodology and governance processes. Ensures quality, compliance, and commonality in project management approach and execution. Supports major change efforts through communications efforts and organizational change management processes. Determines new products and technologies that enhance and help optimize project methodologies and project execution.

Relationship Development – Develops influential and collaborative relationships with business leaders and other key stakeholders in support of project office success.

Reporting – Develops methods of measuring project and portfolio performance. Conveys project updates and performance results to the appropriate parties through metrics, reports, presentations, and other communications.

Managerial Functions - Oversees teams accountable for administration of the CRE facilities projects and programs, and for design and construction processes and programs. Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to policies, procedures, and efficiencies in order to meet business objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff.

Vendor Management - Develops and manages vendor relationships associated with corporate real estate project planning and execution activities. Provides support to contract and statement of work reviews, negotiations, and execution including construction contracts. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Corporate Real Estate, transaction management, lease administration, asset management, project management, general management

OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Corporate Real Estate, transaction management, lease administration, asset management, project management, general management

Preferred Areas of Experience:

15+ years of experience in Corporate Real Estate

8+ years of leadership experience including talent development and coaching of geographically dispersed teams with varying experience levels

Experience with Corporate Real Estate within financial services

Advanced verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Proven ability to drive strategic execution of multiple concurrent projects

Ability to lead using a data-driven approach

Strong organization and prioritization skills

Business acumen / knowledge with the ability to navigate complex organizations

Advanced MS Office skills

Experience with construction project management

Knowledge and familiarity with construction documents, current construction practices, leases, work letters, bidding, and contracts
