Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Quality Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the overall quality and compliance of all laboratory operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) that aligns with regulatory standards such as CLIA, CAP, and other applicable accreditations. The Quality Manager will collaborate with laboratory staff to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Develop, implement, and maintain a robust QMS to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards; Conduct internal audits and quality assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions; Oversee the investigation and resolution of quality issues, complaints, and adverse events.; Develop and implement quality control procedures and monitor performance indicators to assess laboratory performance; Participate in the development and review of laboratory policies, procedures, and work instructions. Manage and coordinate external proficiency testing programs.Collaborate with laboratory staff to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement; Provide answer to resolve QA/QC issues in a quick efficient manner; Provide training and education to staff on quality management principles and regulatory requirements; Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and documentation; Prepare and submit required quality reports to regulatory agencies; Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices; Represent the laboratory in quality-related meetings and committees; Complete data and report findings at the departmental QA/QC meeting; Proven experience in quality management and compliance; Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and other relevant regulatory requirements; Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication skills; Proficiency in computer applications, including quality management software; Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems may be beneficial; Regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama in biology, chemistry, medical technology or a related scientific field and five years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Quality management and compliance experience is preferred. Masters degree and certification in quality management or a related field is preferred.
