Overview:

Are you a skilled, detail-oriented Commercial Painter seeking a new opportunity? Join our team, where you'll tackle tasks such as scaffolding assembly, surface preparation, paint sanding, drywall hole filling, color mixing and commercial painting. Responsibilities:

Duties:

• Paint the interior and exterior of commercial buildings.

• Mix colors for touch-ups and small projects.

• Set up scaffolding and ensure you have all fixtures protected prior to painting.

• Prep surfaces prior to painting.

• Read specification books to ensure that what is being applied is the correct product.

• Give input on the proper sequence of activities.

• Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist in the training/orientation of employees when needed.

• Promote teamwork and positive communication among employees.

• Attend and participate in miscellaneous site meetings, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas as needed or requested by project superintendent.

• Develop and stress a sense of urgency to all field workers.

Skills and Abilities:

• Prior professional painting experience

• Willingness and ability to gain knowledge of and consistently practice basic OSHA regulations.

• Capable of comprehending safety rules, tool and equipment usage and maintenance instructions, and mechanical drawing and layout procedures.

• Capable of effective verbal communication with co-workers, time management, problem-solving, and positive collaboration with other employees.

• Able to attend to job duties on a consistent, timely basis.

• Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High School diploma, or GED, or as approved by Production Manager and Manager of Manpower

Minimum 5 years’ commercial painting experience

Ability to operate painting equipment such as power washers, paint sprayers, and scaffolding. 

Drywall experience a plus

Additional Requirements:

Pass a pre-employment drug test

Have reliable transportation

Working Conditions:

Work is often performed outside under any type of weather conditions. Exposure to varying degrees/amounts of heat, cold, dust, dampness, ice, precipitation and mud.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials; Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively to meet the physical demands of our industry. Stand or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time.

Must have acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction).
