What we are looking for:

SCS Engineers is looking for a Project- to Senior Project-Level Civil Engineer in Nashville, Tennessee to work on various civil, solid waste and environmental related projects. You should be a quick learner, motivated, team-player, and have the desire to grow professionally. Projects focus on landfills and landfill infrastructure, solid waste management, including landfill gas, composting and composting facility infrastructure, and other similar type projects, which require AutoCAD skills, design, engineering, permitting, and construction inspections. Experience with industrial/manufacturing environmental permitting and compliance desired. This position has potential for a hybrid work setting.

How you can make an impact:

Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.

Complete designs using 2D and Civil 3D AutoCAD drafting, mathematical calculations, etc.

Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.

Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plan and coordinate work, and represent us at meetings and conferences.

Field work performed in varied terrain and weather will be required.

Office based tasks including: AutoCAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.

Business development including: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.

Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.

Managing tasks and small projects, with support from other office staff.

Prepare reports and plans such as Phase I/Phase II environmental site assessments, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and compliance reporting.

Assist in training/mentoring junior staff.

Position expected to consist of 70-80 percent office time and 20-30 percent field work.

Up to 10 percent travel expected.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, Geotechnical, Environmental or similar Engineering required.

Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience required. Solid waste, industrial/manufacturing, environmental regulations, and assessment/remediation experience is preferred.

P.E. registration or E.I.T. required.

Experience with using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.

Project Management experience is a plus.

Detail-oriented and a team player with great communication, technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay Range:

USD $70,000.00 - USD $(phone number removed) /Yr.
