How you make a difference:

The NeuroBehavioral Hospital Master’s Level Social Worker conducts independent assessments, diagnoses, and provides clinical and psychosocial treatments to patients. They coordinate discharge planning and advocate for patients with community stakeholders while staying current with legal issues related to patient care. Additionally, they maintain effective communication between the recovery team, families, guardians, and community providers. 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized care and treatment to patients that is consistent with their developmental needs. 

Develop and implement interventions for barriers to discharge, coordinate discharge planning, and advocate for patients with internal and external stakeholders. 

Maintain medical records in compliance with healthcare policies, update discharge information, and document direct and collateral contacts. 

Promote self-knowledge and professional growth, prioritize workload, and participate in clinical supervision and performance improvement activities. 

Serve as a practicum instructor for social work interns and work to improve hospital service delivery. 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required.

Experience

Must have knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) and community resources.

Two (2) years of experience with the severe and persistent mentally ill is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Current State Licensure (LPC/LPCI/LMHC/CMSW/LCSW/LMFT) preferred.

Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR and CPI certification.
