Overview:

Great Day Improvements / Champion Windows - Manufacturing Plant Manager

As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations. This position evaluates sales and delivery information, develops production schedules, organizes changeovers, develops and schedules preventative maintenance, enforces quality standards, maintains Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and manages staff.

Responsibilities:

· Directs plan operational strategies by anticipating by analyzing trends, preparing critical measurements, implementing production, productivity, quality, customer service, safety, security, and leading system improvements.

· Directs plant organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional objectives in line with organizational goals.

· Directs plant financial strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances, developing action plans, measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.

· Plans plant operations by evaluating sales and delivery information, identifying short-term and long-term issues, identifying an evaluating option, and choosing a course of action.

· Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.

· Maximizes plant production by developing production schedules, organizing change-overs, and developing and scheduling preventative maintenance.

· Improves quality production results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and implementing changes.

· Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy plant environment by adhering to organization standards, policies, and legal regulations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

· Strategic planning skills:The Plant Manager must ensure the development and implementation of a clear strategic plan for an organization or business unit.

· Financial planning skills: Plant Managers are responsible for looking at the future of the business and making key investments and investment recommendations.

· Interpersonal skills:Plant Managers must be able to support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development.

· Leadership skills:Plant Managers are responsible for leading entire business units or divisions of an organization.

· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to create an environment of respect and trust within the organization.

· Hands-on approach, as demonstrated by experience working with leaders on the shop floor and a genuine interest in working with staff to achieve process improvement.

· Ability to convey a sense of purpose and generate excitement and commitment among staff and leadership.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Business Management, Manufacturing, or related field.

· Five (5) plus years of manufacturing operations experience with roles of progressively increasing responsibility.

· Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a Plant Manager.

· Five (5) plus years of supervisory experience.

· Experience managing a formal safety program to ensure compliance and safety of employees.

· Lean Six Sigma a plus
