Responsibilities:

Saint John Hospital is looking for a per diem, variable shift Patient Account Registrar in the Admitting Department to join our growing and dynamic staff!

The Patient Account Registrar duties include, but are not limited to:

interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics

secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable

work closely with all facets of the Admitting Department, including PBX operator function and reception areas

must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data

able to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics

maintain proficiency in medical terminology

special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe

we are looking for a person with a positive attitude who has compassion and empathy for others

willingness to learn and be ambitious and successful in your role

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

effective written and verbal communication skills

ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines

analytical and problem-solving skills

customer service experience, required

high school graduate or GED equivalent, required
