Location: Derbyshire
Hybrid Working: 3/2 site/home

Client Overview - Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical):
Our client is a prominent UK contractor specialising in infrastructure and engineering projects across sectors including water, health, and transportation. Known for delivering critical projects that shape the future, the organisation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to coordinate all mechanical engineering functions and deliver successful project outcomes.

Purpose of the Role - Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical):
The Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) will oversee mechanical engineering functions during both pre- and post-contract phases, ensuring projects meet technical and commercial requirements. You will play a key role in coordinating services, supporting project teams, and ensuring the integration of mechanical systems into treatment works.

Key Accountabilities - Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical):

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Vet all procurement packages and oversee mechanical requirements on and off-site.
Coordinate services and ensure proper integration into treatment works.
Oversee the production of mechanical drawings and liaise with other disciplines.
Support the Project Quantity Surveyor and Site Agents on installation and commercial matters.
Monitor productivity and audit labour and materials used in the project.
Conduct factory inspections and quality audits to ensure the highest levels of quality.
Manage and monitor progress to ensure delivery against agreed programmes and budgets.
Represent the company at internal and external project reviews.
Competency Requirements - Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical):

Possess a relevant CSCS card and SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the water or waste sector.
Technical knowledge of civil, electrical, and mechanical operations.
Experience in pre-production and production project engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Commercial acumen and ability to plan and organise resources.
Proficiency in IT and company software packages.
Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical):

Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical project engineering.
Appreciation of Lean Construction and Agile Programme Management.
First Aid qualification and experience with factory inspections and audits.
