Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Traffic/ITS/Safety Civil Engineering Intern to be based in Atlanta, GA. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be creative, self-driven, client-focused, and impactful. An ideal candidate will be passionate about improving the safety and efficiency of Georgia roadways for users of all ages and abilities.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Contributing within Traffic Safety, ITS, and Traffic Operations as needed.

Developing an awareness of standard practices, techniques, and procedures under supervision.

Following specific, detailed instructions and technical approaches for design.

Communicating and collaborating with full design team and others.

Providing analysis to support development of design ideas and solutions, including assisting in developing traffic engineering screenings and studies.

Pulling and analyzing vehicular and vulnerable road user crash data.

Supporting and assisting in the development of work products such as specifications, concept designs, sketches, drawings, and illustrative graphics.

Researching alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research.

Developing an awareness of AECOM’s Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
