ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated FOIA Specialist (Attorney) to join our team. As a FOIA Specialist (Attorney) at ARETUM, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program and ensuring compliance with FOIA regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities
Reviewing and processing FOIA requests in accordance with agency policies and procedures
Conducting legal research and analysis to identify responsive records
Preparing legal responses to FOIA requests, including redacting sensitive information
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to gather and provide requested information
Maintaining accurate records of FOIA requests and responses
Keeping up-to-date with changes and updates to FOIA policies and procedures
Requirements
Two years of prior FOIA experience as an Attorney; Ability to process FOIA requests from cradle-to-grave
Experience reviewing large record sets and applying redactions to responsive records in accordance with the FOIA, USDA’s FOIA regulations, and any applicable case law
Drafting legal correspondence
Managing FOIA admin files in accordance with office SOPs
Proficiency with USDA’s commonly used confidentiality statutes
Preparing FOIA appeal packages for legal sufficiency review.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
