Vb Controls is a small business, providing quality design and manufacturing.  This includes custom proprietary engineering, UL or CE engineering services, proprietary solid state relay product design, and manufacturing cell development using small scale, fast turn around, pick and place systems and reflow soldering cells. We are a United States based business that provides turn-key development of client defined and owned products.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Development Engineer to join our design team. This role involves managing the research and design team, conceptualizing and creating new products, testing prototypes, and drafting specifications for manufacturing.

To excel in this position, candidates should be innovative, creative, and analytical. A strong proficiency in 3D modeling software and report writing tools is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities Product Development Engineer

- Conducting market research to identify requirements for new product development.

- Assessing company needs and integrating market insights to define goals for new products.

- Using CAD software to conceptualize and design prototypes of new product ideas.

- Creating and fabricating prototypes for testing and evaluation.

- Testing products throughout the design phase to identify and address potential issues.

- Experimenting with various materials, manufacturing methods, design tolerances, and other factors to determine the best fit for the product specifications.

- Refining designs until they are production-ready.

- Providing the manufacturing team with detailed product specifications and production procedures.

- Analyzing existing products to pinpoint areas for improvement and updating relevant documentation.

- Establishing quality control criteria and safety guidelines, ensuring adherence by all team members.

Requirements

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

- A Master's degree in Engineering is a plus.

- Prior experience in product development.

- Experience with industry-specific products is advantageous.

- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols.

- Proficiency with 3D modeling software and report writing tools.

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

- Excellent mathematical, creative, and problem-solving skills.
