An established UKAS accredited organisation with a variety of analytical testing services, have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join the team.
The main function of the Laboratory Technician is to support the laboratory operations by:
* Preparing microbiological media and reagents.
* Decontaminating and recycling laboratory glassware, operating the autoclave for plastic waste and performing routine cleaning duties within the laboratory areas.
* Performing stock checks of media and consumables within the laboratory.
* Booking in goods and samples
As part of a small, tight-knit and fast-paced team, the successful candidate would report directly into the department’s Head. All technical training will be provided in-house, to give the successful candidate a thorough understanding of the testing they will undertake.
To be considered, you will ideally have a minimum of a BSc (or equivalent) in a Life Science subject. Experienced non-graduates are also encouraged to apply. Experience of the lab-based techniques mentioned, gained in a quality assured setting would be ideal
