As a Mechanical Design Engineer specialising in M&E for renewable projects, you'll contribute to our mission of building sustainable and efficient energy systems across the UK. CorEnergy (Sureserve Group) has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. Due to continued growth and healthy pipeline we are scaling our inhouse M&E design and delivery team.

Company Overview

CorEnergy M&E assists our clients in achieving their carbon reduction goals, this includes developing decarbonisation strategies, and implementing solutions such as large scale and ASHP systems. We predominantly operate in the public sector with many projects financed through PSDS.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Commercial Heating, ASHP and Mechanical engineering with knowledge and experience in decarbonisation and the Salix process. Experience with Renewable energy systems such as Solar PV, CHP and solar thermal will also be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Develop and produce decarbonisation strategies including producing tangible reports.

Produce feasibility studies including RIBA stage 2 designs.

Project design development to RIBA stage 4.

Project review developing the scope of requirements determination of a project. This will include comprehensive site surveys and understanding our clients requirements.

Collect and file as built and client O&M information.

Creating fully functioning CAD models of mechanical systems.

Prepare schematics.

Produce relevant drawing registers and schedule of equipment.

Where external consultants are utilised complete full review and sign off of designs including detail testing and design validation.

Assist in cost analysis ensuring best value.

Participating in design reviews in accordance with internal and customers design standards and relevant legislation.

Liaising between design and product manufactures/ suppliers.

Produce and assist with product analysis and selection.

Pipework sizing calculations * (for LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS, Steam, Gas, F).

Equipment sizing *(pumps, boilers, CHPs, heat pumps, thermal stores, buffer tanks, calorifiers).

Heat gain/loss calculations.

Evaluation of emitters and design of upgrades.

Asist with interdisciplinary consultant (Fire, Acoustic, Structural Civil, planning, HV, Electrical)

Asist in the PSDS application process and reporting thereafter.

Assisting in the tender process and new project winning.

Qualifications and Skills Required

5 Years experience working in a relevant role. (M&E)

Experience of IES and heat loss calculations.

Min 3 Years experience with AutoCAD and H2X

Knowledge of ASHP, WSHPs etc

De carbonisation strategy and carbon reduction.

Experience and knowledge of the Salix PSDS process and LCSF.

Ideally be a member of CIBSE or equivalent and hold IEng ACIBSE status.

Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, BMS and control systems.

Knowledge of building regulations.

Able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision in the majority of technical aspects of your discipline.

Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work you produce.

Excellent communication, with the ability to explain engineering solutions.

Innovative forward thinking and passionate with ability to think outside the box and be solution driven.
