Position Overview:

As a Storeman, you will be responsible for overseeing the inventory and storage of materials, tools, and equipment. Your role will ensure that supplies are managed efficiently, stored correctly, and distributed as needed to support ongoing construction projects. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. You will also be responsible for ensuring fleet vehicles are stored safely and securely within the Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, orders, and deliveries using inventory management software. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies. Ensure proper storage of goods to prevent damage and ensure easy access.

Receiving and Dispatching: Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, including checking quantities and quality against purchase orders. Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring correct documentation and packaging. Coordinate with transport providers to schedule and track deliveries.

Warehouse Organisation: Arrange the layout of goods within the warehouse for optimal space utilisation and accessibility. Implement and enforce safety and cleanliness standards in the warehouse environment. Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for warehouse operations.

Vehicle Maintenance: Monitor the condition of company vehicles working with the Fleet Manager, scheduling and coordinating regular maintenance and repairs. Ensure vehicles are stored securely and be responsible for moving vehicles in and out of the Warehouse to avoid damage from deliveries or the movement of equipment.

Logistics Coordination: Work with logistics teams to plan and optimise delivery routes. Address and resolve any issues related to vehicle operations or transportation delays.

Construction and Setup: Assist in planning and executing warehouse construction projects, including layout design and shelving installation. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for construction materials and services.

Project Management: Monitor progress of construction activities and report on milestones and issues. Ensure that construction work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.

Equipment and Supplies: Source and procure materials and equipment needed for warehouse construction and setup. Ensure timely delivery of construction supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

* Education: vocational qualification or training in warehouse management or logistics preferred.

* Experience: Previous experience in warehouse operations, vehicle management essential

* Skills: Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair. Knowledge of warehouse construction processes is a plus.

* Certifications: Valid UK driver’s license Essential, forklift certification and other relevant certifications are advantageous
