Infrastructure/Network Engineer - contract
Terminal Services, VMWare, AD, Exchange, Windows, Office 365, Networking, Switches, Routers, Meraki, Cisco.
2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure/Network Engineer required for an initial 3-month contract working on-site 2-3 days per week and remotely the rest of the week. The role will require the 2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure/Network Engineer to be on-site at Chesterfield a few days per week.
2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure/Network Engineer - About the role:
The 2nd/3rd Line Engineer role will be based on site/home working 2 or 3 days in Chesterfield HQ and as part of a team, providing effective solutions to escalated technical issues, and provide a high level of technical expertise to the business. You will provide new technical solutions ensuring effective working across the full range of services provided by the business and provide resolution to end user queries.
You will be involved in investigating problems and providing root cause analysis, within the specific SLA ensuring a high first-rate response target is achieved.
The role will involve working with technologies such as Networking, Firewalls, Switching, Meraki, VMWare, Exchange, AD, Office 365 etc.
There will involve working with 3rd party suppliers ensuring successful changes have been made to the technical environment.
There may be some need to work flexible hours due to some of the project work that the company is currently involved in.
2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Network Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
- Support of multi-site technical environments including LAN, Networking, Switches, Meraki, and other Infrastructure
- Take ownership of escalated issues from 1st line support and resolving any queries within SLA
- Provide root cause analysis and resolution of configuration and deployment issues,
- Ensure that 3rd party applications run efficiently across all platforms, provide root cause analysis to any problems.
- Maintain and develop good working relationships with colleagues, other departmental members, and suppliers.
- Review and replace core Meraki Switches and ensure they have been configured correctly
- Liaison with 3rd party suppliers ensuring any technical changes are performed correctly.
2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Network Engineer - Essential Technical Skills:
Candidates must have some exposure to most of the technologies listed below:
- Desktop Applications including Exchange, AD, Windows Server
- VMWare/Hyper-V - some level of understanding
- Networking - Switches & Router configuration experience
- Meraki experience
- Storage replication and multi-site storage deployments
- Networking/Firewalls - knowledge of VPNs etc
The contract is initially for 3 months, with a good chance of further renewals. It offers a rate up to c£350 per day ( inside IR35)
