Job Description: HR Lead
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary external representative for HR across the Trust.
* Ensure that all schools within the Trust receive high-quality, efficient, and effective HR support.
* Provide expert advice to Trust and School leaders on compliance, risk management, and HR-related issues.
* Act as a business partner and coach to senior management, fostering strong relationships to ensure consistency in HR practices and leadership.
* Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring they are effectively deployed to deliver professional, efficient, and high-quality HR services to all Academies.
* Drive change management initiatives and implement innovative HR solutions.
* Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, systems, and processes, ensuring they comply with statutory requirements and best practices.
* Report HR key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Staffing, Operational & Management Committee.
* Create and execute an HR action plan aligned with the Trust's goals.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment and retention strategy to attract, develop, and retain top talent across all roles within the Trust.
* Ensure the Trust complies with Public Sector Equality Duty requirements.
* Establish effective professional relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, trustees, educational advisory boards, trade unions, and external agents.
* Oversee complex employee relations matters such as investigations, redundancies, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
* Ensure all senior leaders are trained in safer recruitment practices.
* Collaborate with external legal partners on complex cases to ensure legal compliance.
* Oversee the Single Central Record (SCR) for all staff, ensuring it is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
* Manage staff contracts and employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
* Lead the recruitment process across the Trust, ensuring an efficient and thorough approach.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR-related case law, statutory changes, and relevant professional guidance from authoritative bodies such as DfE, EFA, ACAS, LGA, and BIS.
* Serve as a role model, embodying and promoting the aims and values of the Trust.
* Prepare HR analytics and data reports for senior management and governance, highlighting trends and insights to inform decision-making.
