IT
Immediate Start
£70k - £80k Annual
Full-Time - Remote
Role: Network & Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Within 1 hour of Dartford (some remote working allowed post-probation)

About The Company:

Our client is a dynamic and complex business with a large, multi-site network environment. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a talented Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. The infrastructure is evolving, and they need someone who can navigate both Networking and Server management, especially with their transition to using Aruba. The legacy Network is primarily Cisco-based, but they are also integrating new technologies, including Fortigate firewalls and Hyper-V, with support from the Corporate IT team.

The Role:

Your role as a Network & Infrastructure Engineer will be a crucial part of the IT team, working in a challenging environment where no two days are the same. The primary focus will be on networking, but the role also requires a working knowledge of servers. The successful candidate will handle multiple routing protocols across various services and locations, ensuring the infrastructure remains robust, secure, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining Network solutions, focusing on both legacy Cisco systems and new Aruba setups.
- Managing and troubleshooting Fortigate firewalls and supporting the integration of Hyper-V with assistance from the Corporate IT team.
- Participating in an on-call rota, ready to respond to critical issues.
- Collaborating with an excellent Software Engineer and Network Engineer within the team, while also working closely with colleagues from other areas of the business.

What They’re Looking For:

- Strong networking experience, ideally with exposure to Aruba and Fortigate.
- A solid understanding of servers, with a willingness to learn Hyper-V if not already familiar.
- Experience with routing protocols, next-generation firewalls, and multi-site infrastructures.
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills under pressure and the capability to make sound decisions in urgent situations.
- Candidates within an hour’s commute from the office, willing to work onsite as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

- Technically adept with the right attitude. Our client has seen candidates with the skills but not the professionalism, so they need someone who’s focused, reliable, and doesn’t get distracted in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a business with a complex network across multiple locations, comfortable handling a variety of challenges.
- Experience with Aruba and Fortinet is preferred, but less experience with Hyper-V is acceptable - willingness and aptitude to learn are what matters most.
- Proactive, constantly seeking to improve skills, and perhaps even have personal projects that showcase a passion for technology.

If you’re ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, our client would love to hear from you
