Direct Counsel has partnered with a highly regarded boutique law firm in Los Angeles, CA and is currently seeking a demand writer and negotiator. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of working for a civil litigation practice and have prior experience with drafting demand letters and negotiating cases. 

Requirements

2+ years of legal secretary experience at a litigation firm preferably a personal injury firm

Strong writing skills.

Intricate knowledge of state court procedures and deadlines.

Ability to prepare complaints and discovery using templates and to file in State and Federal courts.

Conducting legal research using resources like Lexis-Nexis

Managing and organizing documents using document management systems

Maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, and managing deadlines

Coordinating meetings and conference calls to be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
