HGV Technician Vacancy

Location: Retford

Day shift: Monday to Friday

40 hours per week, 08:00 – 17:00

Up to £52,000p/a

I’m currently working with and on behalf of my client to secure qualified, highly skilled and motivated HGV Technicians for their workshop in the Retford area.

The company is a family owned, established but growing company which has a state of the art, clean and well-maintained workshop. They have a number of loyal customers who highly recommend the service they provide and deliver which is a driving factor in the need for a qualified, skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join their small but friendly team.

The role:

You will be working on RCV’s Refuge vehicles, Bin Lorries, Diesel and EV vehicles. Heavy goods vehicles (HGV’s).

Day shift Monday to Friday

* 40 hours per week between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00 Hourly rate up to £25p/h d.o.e

* Overtime available

We are looking for qualified and time served HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.

You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first-class service.

The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

* Routine (and preventative) maintenance

* MOT preparation

* Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards

* 6 (or 8) weekly inspections

* Correction of running defects

* Chassis and fabrication work

* Hydraulics and pneumatics

* Improvement of vehicle standards

* Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.

Requirements:

* Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.

* Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
