Job Title: Mechanical Inspector
Working Arrangements: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship required
Restrictions and limitations may apply regarding nationality and work rights. Successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
The Opportunity:
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will ensure that products meet defined standards and specifications through careful inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
* Certify products according to the certification procedure.
* Inspect assemblies for correctness.
* Examine the finish of parts for defects or deterioration.
* Check for physical damage.
* Conduct intermediate inspections on non-certification items.
* Monitor product certification processes carried out by operators.
* Complete necessary manufacturing data and documentation.
* Segregate defective items from approved products.
* Raise and maintain defect reports and relevant records.
* Use and care for specialised inspection tools.
* Maintain product certification through regular audits.
* Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures.
* Meet inspection deadlines and timelines.
* Apply versatile skills to a variety of tasks.
* Maintain high workmanship and product quality standards.
* Promote a safe working environment and maintain housekeeping standards.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
* NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 technical engineering or craft apprenticeship (essential).
* HNC or equivalent certificate (preferred).
* Several years of experience as a skilled mechanical inspector; IPC 610 certification is an advantage.
* Strong team player with customer focus, planning, and organisational skills.
