Our client who is one of the leading suppliers of automated conveying and material handling systems are looking for a PLC Software & Commissioning Controls Engineer to join their team based in Nottingham.

Your responsibilities will involve technical development of intralogistics warehouse automation solutions taking projects through from concept to completion and developing PLC code and associated processes from scratch.

Your Responsibilities as the new PLC Software & Commissioning Controls Engineer:

* This opportunity would suit an experienced PLC commissioning engineer familiar with Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms using Step 7 / TIA Portal / Logix5000 packages.

* Experience with conveyor systems / warehouse ASRS systems would be an advantage.

* Bar coding and interaction with WCS/WMS systems plus familiarity of networks such as Asi, profibus, profinet, Ethernet IP etc would also be favourable.

* Developing PLC code to include standard functions

* Implementing final commissioning to handover stage

* Good knowledge of electrical schematic drawings and electrical safety circuits would be a prerequisite.

Your requirements:

* Logistics warehousing, distribution centre or fulfillment experience preferred.

* Understanding of warehouse design, material handling equipment.

* Proven ability to develop creative and innovative customer solutions.

* Excellent communication skills

* Careful, accurate and independent operation

* Reliability, teamwork, high self-initiative and customer orientation

About the role:

* Full time, Permanent 40 hours per week.

* Monday – Friday

* £40,000 - £70,000 Depending on Experience

* Working away on site will be required for this role

* We do also have a manager role available

Your responsibilities as the new Controls Engineer Manager:

* Achieve electrical engineering operational objectives by contributing electrical engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans.

* Ensure completion of electrical projects by supervising installation and resolving design issues.

* Manage staff performance to ensure the running of an effective and efficient Controls Department.

* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations.

* In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the role may be required to perform other duties assigned to them from time to time, however such duties will be reasonable in relation to the employee’s skills, abilities, status etc.

Your requirements as the new Control Engineer Manager:

* Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

* Excellent critical thinking skills and a high level of numeracy.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* Strong teamworking skills, with an ability to motivate others and to lead or manage teams and projects

About the role:

* Full time, Permanent 40 hours per week

* Monday - Friday

* £55,000 - £60,000 Depending on Experience
