A Civil Engineering Consultancy based in Hampshire have an opportunity for a Principal Highways Design Engineer to join their growing team. The role benefits from a competitive starting salary of up to £65k, plus bonus and many other benefits.

As Principal Highways Design Engineer, you will manage the design process for a variety of projects within the transport planning sector. Responsibilities will include:

Ensuring that designs are delivered within programme and budget.
Management of resource allocations.
Preparation and management of project budgets.
Being the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
Ensuring that designs adhere to relevant guidance and authorities.
Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.

The key skills required for the Principal Highways Design Engineer will be:

Proactive management skills with the ability to inspire others.
Excellent resource management skills.
Experience of a variety of highway design environments.
Proven project management of highway projects.
Previous experience of mentoring and developing others.
Experienced in managing the development of contract documents related to relevant highway contracts.
The ability to work with and advise key clients on technical issues in the highway structure sector.
Knowledge of Civils 3D CAD package.
Experience in highway drainage design and use of MicroDrainage software.
