Title: DBA Consultant

Location: Waukegan

Duration: 6-12 months with potential for extension

Rate: $550 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced DataStax Database Administrator (DBA) to manage complex, multi-cluster NoSQL database environments. In this role, you will analyze current systems, processes, and design flows, documenting your findings and proposed solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing data-centric infrastructure within a cloud-based environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and maintaining business-critical NoSQL databases and possess excellent technical and client service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and optimize DataStax clusters, ensuring efficient read/write operations and seamless data integration from other file systems.

• Leverage your technical expertise to identify opportunities for system improvement and provide innovative solutions to complex business challenges.

• Collaborate closely with developers to implement requirements and offer guidance on best practices.

• Manage database backup and restore processes, ensuring system resilience in critical scenarios.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience managing NoSQL databases, with deep expertise in DataStax or Cassandra.

• Proven ability to set up and optimize DataStax clusters and handle data migration from various file systems.

• Strong experience in maintaining and optimizing DataStax NoSQL databases.

• Proficiency in backup, restore, and recovery strategies.

• Solid SQL skills.

• DataStax certification is a plus.

• Experience working in an AWS environment.
