Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor seeking a fresh challenge in the housebuilding industry? We’re looking for a talented and experienced professional to join our small, dynamic team at a respected Joinery Contractor, working alongside some of the country’s largest house-builders.
About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing contracts from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include:
* Producing accurate quotations for contracts
* Conducting cost analysis and ensuring all commercial aspects of the project are properly managed
* Preparing and analysing contracts, with a strong understanding of commercial law within the housebuilding sector
* Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on time
* Managing pricing lists for joiners, handling applications for payment, and ensuring accurate client payments
* Identifying and mitigating commercial risks, and advising on contractual claims

As a Quantity Surveyor on our team, you’ll work closely with industry leaders and have the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Friday (4-day week option available)
* 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility for earlier or later starts
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare quotations and contract documentation
* Create and manage joiner price lists
* Conduct cost analyses to ensure accurate payments
* Provide expert advice on contract law and commercial risks
* Value completed work and arrange payments, including negotiations with housebuilders
* Monitor contracts to ensure completion within budget and timelines
* Work closely with site managers to ensure smooth project execution
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the housebuilding sector
* Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
* Knowledge of commercial law and the legal framework for construction contracts (including contractual notices)
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience with a housebuilder PLC or in a similar residential Quantity Surveyor role, or an HND/Degree in a related field
* A network of subcontractor contacts (advantageous but not required)
* Valid Driving Licence
