DevOps engineer required for a leading SaaS organisation who specialise in Cyber Security technology. The company, based in Manchester City Centre have recently gone through a spell of rapid growth and have had a recent injection of outside investment. They are on the lookout for a DevOps Engineer to join their team to work on their market-leading product - Remote (Once a quarter in the office).

Their cybersecurity platform is designed to help organisations improve security awareness among employees. It focuses on educating and training staff through personalised learning experiences, addressing topics like phishing, password security, and data protection. They also offer tools for assessing and improving overall cybersecurity practices, enabling businesses to stay compliant with regulations and safeguard their digital assets. The solution is user-friendly and adaptable, catering to companies of various sizes across different industries. They've been operating very successfully across the UK and have managed to increase their headcount by 36% over the last 2 years growing to around 60 members. We've worked with this organisation for a few years now and have heard great things first-hand, they have a really good technical environment, strong employee culture and as a result great retention rates.

They are looking to bring in some new talent to build a DevOps team with this position being the first stage of the process. Their current platform is based in Heroku, with the plan to migrate all the data over to AWS to improve flexibility and increase scalability. This means that working with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible would equip you well for this role. Additionally, it is essential that the correct candidate is proficient in AWS and is AWS certified.

The successful candidate will be the first member of an exciting new DevOps team which they are planning to grow in the future helping to provide a quality service to their end users who include massive distributors across Ireland, Germany, Spain and the US.

Key Responsibilities:

** Design, implement, and support a robust, scalable, and secure cloud environment on AWS.

** Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies, employing tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, to automate and manage infrastructure.

** Design and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and ensure efficient, high-quality release cycles.

** Work collaboratively with development, security, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and effective delivery of solutions.** Continuously monitor system health, diagnose issues, and fine-tune infrastructure to improve cost-effectiveness and performance.

** Maintain strict compliance with security standards, best practices, and regulatory guidelines

** Streamline workflows by automating routine tasks to boost operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Requirements:

** 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role, specializing in AWS environments.

** Demonstrated expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable technologies.

** Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

** In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.

** Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

** Strong understanding of containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.

** Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or the ELK Stack.

** Excellent problem-solving abilities with a track record of resolving complex technical issues.

** Effective communication and collaboration skills.

** Knowledge of security best practices and their implementation.

** Relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

** Solid understanding of network concepts and cloud-based networking.

** Experience working in a SaaS environment is a plus.

They are massive on career progression and the personal development of their staff, they have multiple members of staff that have been with the business for a number of years now and have really grown into senior positions with the business. It's genuinely a really interesting and technically challenging role within a growing, yet well-established (and financially secure) tech organisation.

The company are based in Manchester - although you will only be required in the office once every quarter, during the onboarding period you would be expected to come in for a few days (Costs will be covered) In return, they're able to offer a salary of between £60k-£70k, very flexible working hours and a 2pm Friday finish.
