Abatec is recruiting for a freelance General Foreman to join a recognised tier-one contractor on a major civil engineering project in Somerset.

The successful candidate will have a previous background in civil engineering, tier-one contractor experience, as well as highways maintenance knowledge.

As a General Foreman you will:

* Have experience in highways and civil engineering

* Assist the Site Agents in the day-to-day programming of works.

* Act as a responsible member of staff, liaising with men on the ground.

Our client requires a General Foreman with:

* Valid CSCS Gold or above

* SMSTS

* A good understanding of construction health & safety protocols.

* Excellent communication skills.

* A background in Civil engineering.

Salary and benefits include:

* £350 - £400 PAYE/Umbrella
