Supplier Quality Manager / Fresh Produce / Northamptonshire

£40-50k

We are looking for a dedicated Supplier Quality Manager to join our team. You will work directly with suppliers and growers to ensure they meet the high standards our client expects across food safety, legality, quality, and ethical considerations. This role ensures the supply of exceptional quality of fresh raw materials into their manufacturing sites and depots.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with suppliers and growers to communicate quality standards and ensure raw materials meet agreed specifications.
Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with food safety, legality, and ethical standards.
Drive category innovation, yield improvement, and reduce stock working capital, waste, and product write-offs.
Provide financial yield analysis and operational data to support procurement and site operations.
Gather data on crop performance and supplier due diligence to inform procurement decisions.
Work with operations teams to improve product yield, reduce complaints, and monitor site efficiency.
Champion customer focus throughout the supply chain and maintain strong communication between technical and trading teams.Skills and Experience Required:

Strong product knowledge within a specific category, you must have experience working with fresh produce - vegetables, fruit or salad.
Ideally with experience auditing suppliers (Farm and packhouse).
Familiarity with standards such as AFS, Global Gap, and BRC, with Intermediate HACCP, Food Safety, and Microbiology skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple suppliers and stakeholders.
Proven experience in quality or technical management, supplier auditing, and specification management.
Commercial awareness and the ability to influence decisions through data-driven insights.
