I have an immediate need for 3 x Software Engineers for my client in Lancashire.

The expectation is to be able to do 1 day per month on site.

The position of Software Engineer would join the Cloud team in the R&D department to accelerate the companies exciting product roadmap of Cloud connected systems and digital services which form the core of our development projects. This roadmap includes migrating to a microservices architecture as well as adding new features and functionality.

The role is a full stack role but emphasis on Back End skills here really - NodeJs. Candidates should be rounded and experienced, looking for senior level. People who have experience of AWS and worked on large complex applications would be highly sought after. Knowing their way around React and Front End in general is a bonus but in a lot of ways it's a Back End engineer the client are looking for.

The client is looking for someone that will have worked on complex applications.

The role covers:

• Experience in RESTful API development with NodeJS and frameworks available for it (such as Express)
• Responsibility for design and implementation of new features for the Cloud service
• Building on existing functionality to deliver further value to customers
• Implementation of architectural improvements
• Investigation and resolution of system defects
• Working in a Scrum-based Agile environment, delivering regularly and frequently in Sprints
• Supporting deployments into both development and Live environments

The successful candidate must have:

• Strong Experience with functional and object-oriented JavaScript, ES6 Features
• Strong proficiency with SQL and skilled at writing and optimizing large, complicated SQL statements
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Reviewing application requirements and interface designs (such as wireframing)
• Identifying web-based user interactions and general user experience flow
• Developing and implementing responsive user interface components (React, Vue etc)
• Experience in the full software development life cycle through requirements, specification, design, development, debug and test
• Experience in Scrum and Agile Methodology

It would be an advantage if the candidate had:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK/CDKTF etc.)
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application using Event Driven Architecture, microservice architecture etc
• Experience in deploying to and monitoring applications in AWS or other cloud infrastructure
• Good understanding of Server Side templating languages (such as Pug, EJS, etc)

Salary of circa £70k. (they MAY pay more for an outstanding candidate).
