'Head of Business Intelligence' - Oracle Cloud Platform - Data/AI/Machine Learning
Our client are looking to hire a Head of Business Intelligence post successful implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP.
Non negotiables include:
- Good Oracle Cloud ERP experience/exposure from previous roles.
- Extensive experience leading Business Intelligence and Data Management across an established team.
- Expert communication and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of Oracle (or equivalent) of FDI, OTBI, OAC, BI Publisher, SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio and EPBCS/EPM
- Previous Client and expert leadership, people and management skill set with proven ability to grow their BI Team (preferably teams of 10+ and more)
- Ability to live and work locally to either London (West London) OR Glasgow/week with 2-3 day onsite visits/at the need of the business.
- Salary: circa. 110k London/circa. 100K Glasgow plus a 6k travel allowance, good company bonus and benefits (salary has some negotiation).

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Demonstrable experience of establishing and leading a Business Intelligence and Data Management function, defining and implementing BI and data strategies, and providing BI insights and capabilities to a large-scale organisation
- Extensive experience of Cloud ERP, EPM and associated BI and data capabilities - Oracle Fusion is strongly preferred
- Ability to build relationships and influence all levels of the business and external stakeholders. With experience of engaging and influencing senior level stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of using BI and data to inform business decisions and strategies
- A broad understanding of the processes and data structures associated with the Record-to-Report, Hire-to-Retire, Projects-to-Retire (Asset management), Source-to-Pay and Service-to-Cash workstreams
- Knowledge of Oracle (or equivalent) FDI, OTBI, OAC, BI Publisher, SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio and EPBCS/EPM. Understanding of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning techniques and other Cloud Platforms (eg Azure and Salesforce)
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques, such as predictive modelling, regression, classification, clustering, and reinforcement learning
- Knowledge of modern data architecture, including cloud and distributed computing and experience working with data warehouse, Business Intelligence solutions, databases, and programming frameworks
- Ability to understand and interpret business strategy and identifying how meaningful BI can be used to inform business decisions for example sustainability strategies
- A highly effective communicator capable of taking complex data and distilling it into actionable business stories
Principal Accountabilities
- Introducing, growing and promoting business wide digital capabilities. Providing guidance, setting standards, and leveraging analytical expertise to deliver better business outcomes via the team and across the organisation.
- Leadership of the Business Intelligence team within the Business Services function to create a centre of excellence. Developing and automating reporting; business analytics and insight tools; and organisational capabilities with focus on self-service. Prioritising resources on business priorities. Enabling efficient and effective business outcomes.
- Ownership and continual development of Master Data Management strategies; structures and controls; and overall data governance framework to ensure data integrity is rigorously and robustly managed and our data is protected.
- Represent Business Services in the evolution of the Client wide technology strategy. Ensuring that Client is utilising and leveraging technologies, including Oracle Fusion, to get the maximum benefits these technologies provide. Influence the development of our data infrastructure and tooling to ensuring the business is equipped to make data-driven decisions of the future.
- Advocate industry best practice on Data and Insight and provide thought leadership. Coach the organisation and its senior leaders to ensure the business understand how to use and maximise those capabilities. Champion a data first approach and culture. Continually seeking to use data to unlock new insights and capability within the business. Working with the senior business stakeholders to provide business intelligence, insight and reporting solutions that enable timely and effective decision making.
- Partner with both internal stakeholders and external service providers (particularly Oracle) to move forward the development of the business-critical product by the supplier to meet the current and future business needs through a strategic partnership.
- Championing a business partnership approach. Understanding the business needs now and in the future, to provide business analytics and Insight capabilities to the organisation, to enable improved and more timely decision making.
- Adopt a change orientated role in Business Services leadership team and within Heads of Department peer group to drive cultural change across the organisation with respect to data management and analytics.
