Pre-Construction Manager – Highways

£60,000 - £80,000

Information on the role:

* Leading civil engineering projects from the pre-construction phase through to completion.

* Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project goals.

* Acting as the primary point of contact for clients during the pre-construction phase.

* Overseeing the preparation and submission of tenders, bids, and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs).

* Ensuring that pre-construction activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

* Providing technical input during the design and planning stages to ensure compliance with industry standards.

* Facilitating the smooth transition from pre-construction to project delivery teams.

What we’d like from you:

* Proven experience in civil engineering, including managing pre-construction activities such as tendering and bidding.

* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, MICE) is desirable.

* Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer is highly desirable.

* Strong leadership and management skills, with the potential to grow into a director-level role.

* Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.

* Proficiency in project management and estimating software.

* A thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry regulations.

* Willingness to work on multiple projects and adapt to client needs.
