Controls Engineer – Greater Manchester – Permanent – Hybrid - Motion/Servo Control - £50-55k + overtime
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Controls Engineer to join a specialist systems integrator that specialises in motion control and variable speed drives for special purpose machinery.
Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include –
* Company has an excellent reputation and punches about its weight in terms of its size Vs the variety and complexity of the work they deliver
* Successful Controls Engineer will create customised PLC, motion control HMI programs
* You don’t need to be in the office if you don’t need to be there – they ask you’re there for key project review meetings or FATs etc.
* Knowledge of motion control, servo control and variable speed drives is key – all their projects have elements of these involved
* Design PLC control systems using, robots, AC inverter & servo drives (ideally have Mitsubishi experience)
* Creation of Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for projects
* Controls Engineer will design vision systems for pick and place robotic applications
* Attend site to commission and service equipment – a lot of the site will be based in the North West with UK site work involved further afield. Controls Manager estimates about 15% of your time will be spent on site – often being able to get home on an evening.
* UK driving licence – essential
* Company is big on training & development opportunities for their Engineers as well as bringing in an experienced Controls Engineer who’ll add to the positive working environment
The office work is commutable from most of Manchester and the surrounding areas including places such as Stockport, Heywood, Rochdale, Ashton-under-Lyne, Huddersfield, Halifax, Haslingden, Accrington, Todmorden, Oldham and Bolton.
