Cranleigh STEM is partnering with a leading polymer development business, we are looking for an experienced manufacturing maintenance engineer to focus on the design, development, and maintenance of production equipment, with a mix of reactive and proactive responsibilities.
To be considered you should ideally hold a degree in a mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field and possess experience with process control and fault finding on electrical, mechanical and PLC systems.
This is a permanent, full-time role based at my client’s state of the art facility in Saffron Walden.
Salary: £42,000 - £58,000 (DOE)
Benefits: 25 days holiday, company pension, DIS 4x salary, cycle-to-work scheme, electric vehicle scheme, EAP, company social events, onsite parking.
Location: Saffron Walden.
Role: Full-time, permanent
Responsibilities:
* Equipment Development: Design and innovate new equipment to enhance processes.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in current processes.
* Maintenance: Provide daily support for existing equipment, addressing both reactive and scheduled maintenance needs.
Skills & Requirements:
* Strong background in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (degree preferred)
* Experience in production environments, process control, and new product integration.
* Proficient in PLC programming, 3-phase 415vac, single-phase 110/120vac, and low voltage DC systems.
* Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, pumps, filtration systems, pistons, and hydraulics.
* Experience with fabrication (milling, lathing, welding) and working with metals and plastics.
Person Specification:
* Strong communication, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Tenacious, adaptable, and capable of managing fluctuating workloads.
