Food Production Operative Required*
IRS Group are currently recruiting Food Production Operatives on behalf of a well-established cake production company located in [City, Region]. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a thriving production environment. The company produces a variety of cakes, including classic favorites and special 'free from' options such as gluten-free and dairy-free products.
We are seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to work in multiple sections of the production process. Positions are available in the Oven, 'Free From,' Decorating, and Mixing sections. This role offers a great opportunity for career progression, with temporary to permanent positions available for the right candidates.
Shifts:
- Morning Shift: 06:00 to 14:00
- Afternoon Shift: 14:15 to 22:15
Salary: £11.44 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Oven Section:
- Operate and monitor baking ovens, ensuring cakes are baked to specification.
- Adjust oven temperatures and settings based on production requirements.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- Keep the oven area clean and organized, complying with food safety and hygiene standards.
Free From' Section (Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, etc.):
- Prepare and produce 'free from' cakes following strict recipes and allergen controls.
- Prevent cross-contamination by adhering to stringent hygiene and safety protocols.
- Ensure consistency and quality of products by following production guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain high standards for 'free from' products.
Decorating Section:
- Decorate cakes to company specifications, including applying icing, toppings, and other decorative elements.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet visual and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the decorating area.
Mixing Section:
- Accurately measure and mix ingredients following specific recipes and batch instructions.
- Operate mixing machines and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure the consistency and quality of the batter.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the mixing area.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in food production, baking, or a similar environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as required.
