Headley have a live vacancy on for a mechanical design engineer with our engineering client based near Huddersfield - a manufacturer of industrial process machinery.

The business is on the up and increasing workloads mean they have a requirement for an additional design engineer.

The scope and variety of the work is good – bespoke designs, interesting product range, diverse client industries, managing the full cycle of projects. A good environment to apply and develop your engineering knowledge.

Key duties to include:

* Obtain required information from client brief to understand the requirement and to provide design solutions accordingly

* Working with inhouse teams, produce technical drawings ready for in house manufacture and assembly

* Work in conjunction with other internal departments, particularly Production to ensure timely manufacture and delivery of finished machines

* Managing the “design” project – regular updates to client, dealing with technical queries as they arise, developing business relationships.

Required Skills / Experience:

* Experience ideally with Solidworks, or other similar design software packages.

* Good interpersonal skills, good at working with colleagues and credible with clients

* You will most likely have worked in design engineering role, though recent graduates can also be considered.

* Experience of bespoke machinery, rotating parts, sheet metal is all advantageous. Training can though be provided for the right candidate

* Good attitude to work is essential; committed, dedicated and reliable
