Job Title: CNC Setter Operator - Nights

Location: Northampton

Pay Range/details: Competitive

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega are supporting a world-renowned automotive company in their search for a CNC Setter Operator to work on the night shift and help ensure that all parts meets are produced and specifications while also minimise production downtime.

In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC machines, as well as reading and editing programs to ensure smooth operations. You will also be responsible for conducting quality control checks using various measurement tools, and inspecting/maintaining machinery, tooling, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Setter Operator

Manufacture camshafts and crankshafts for Automotive and Aerospace customers.
Set and operate machines in a safe manner about themselves and others, complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Produce components to the company standard in the most efficient / cost effective manner.
Be familiar with all systems and procedures of their job.
Ensure that information is transferred between shifts and team members as required.
If problems occur ensure the relevant people are kept informed e.g. Team Leader, Shift Leader, Production Engineer, Scheduler & Maintenance.
Be committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes and tooling.
Highlight problems as soon as they occur to the Team Leader / Shift leader.
Keep working area clean and tidy.
Work within departmental / company procedures.
In addition to the above, fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives.
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Hours: Sunday - 23:00 to 06:00, Monday - Thursday: 22:00 to 06:00.

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Setter Operator

Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information and drawings.
Experience using Multi Axis Mill/Turn machines essential.
Experience using 4 Axis Milling Machines & 2/3 Axis Lathes.
Experience of Fanuc Controls.
Ability to problem solve and see errors in NC code.
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) & DNC Software (Seiki).
